FIRST KIDS OF THE UNITED STATES: Where are they now?

The first kids of US presidents are in the public eye almost as much as their parents. They dictate fashion trends, appear on their parents' behalf at embassies around the world, and sometimes host senior prom in the White House East Room.

You know, normal kid stuff.

But when the first family departs 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., the spotlight typically turns away from them.

To celebrate the Fourth of July — which also happens to be Malia Obama's birthday — we decided to find out what the first children are up to these days.

Chelsea Clinton serves as vice chair of the Clinton Foundation.

Daughter of Bill and Hillary Clinton

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree when it comes to Chelsea Clinton. As her mother focuses her attention on a presidential campaign, Clinton has zeroed in on the Clinton Foundation, championing the group's advocacy work in global health and childhood obesity. Previously, the Stanford grad worked as a special correspondent for NBC News.

Clinton, 35, and husband Marc Mezvinsky welcomed a little girl named Charlotte into their family last summer.

Steven Ford appeared on seven seasons of "The Young and the Restless."

Son of Gerald and Betty Ford

Wild-child Steven Ford, 59, joined the cast of television soap opera "The Young and The Restless" in 1981, playing P.I. Andy Richards. After six seasons and a role reprisal in 2002, he has since appeared in a number of films, including "Armageddon," "Black Hawk Down," "When Harry Met Sally," and "Transformers."

Ford recently ended his tenure as chairman of the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation (though he remains on the board of trustees), but continues to honor the legacy of his father's administration, speaking at town-hall events and lectures around the country.

Caroline Kennedy serves as the US ambassador to Japan.

Daughter of John and Jackie Kennedy

After a lifetime of training in diplomacy, Caroline Kennedy landed the perfect job for her — as the US ambassador to Japan. But she stirred a Twitter controversy when she publicly condemned the annual dolphin hunt, a Japanese tradition.

The former attorney, 57, also serves as president of the JFK Presidential Library and has written nine best-selling books on constitutional law, American history, and poetry. Like her father, she's a strong advocate for free trade, and encourages Democrats to take the same approach for the good of US-Asia relations.

THE ULTIMATE ROAD TRIP: The best route to drive across America

Magic Mike XXL is unapologetically feminist and we're surprised it even exists

joe manganiello magic mike

Last night I went to see the movie "Magic Mike XXL."

It surprised me, because it ended up being one of the most feminist films I've ever seen, and it represents a side of the industry I wasn't sure would ever exist.

Yes, a film about male strippers that just barely passes the Bechdel test (which asks whether any two female characters have a conversation between them that isn't about a man) is massively, unapologetically feminist.

Ostensibly this is about a bunch of bros going on a road trip to a stripper convention. The plot is irrelevant, though, because the point of the film is really female pleasure. And it's not just in the visuals — a nontrivial amount of the dialogue is about figuring out what women want and finding ways to give it to them.

magic mike tatum manganiello

Magic Mike Lane (Channing Tatum), at one point, explains that the inspiration for his memorable solo dance from the previous movie (a reason for a rewatch!) was a woman he saw at a club. He says he just thought about what he would do to her and did it on stage.

At another moment, Lane is standing in a kitchen, talking to a woman eating an entire red-velvet cake while sitting on the counter (hero), and he says to her, "My god is a woman." This makes up for the fact that he declines her invite to share the cake.

She is dumbfounded. She continues eating her cake (red velvet). Tatum walks out into the living room, where one of his friends is giving a lap dance to a middle-aged woman who has just revealed that she and her husband have never had sex with the lights on.

Magic Mike

This is possibly the first movie I've ever seen coming from a heterosexual-male perspective that recognizes that women are independent beings with preferences, and attending to those preferences is sexier than any sculpted abs — though those don't hurt.

In another scene, at a members-only male strip club owned by the fabulous Jada Pinkett Smith, singer-dancer Andre (Donald Glover) asks one of the patrons about herself. On the spot, he makes up a song about her. All of the women in the crowd go crazy for him.

In this movie there are drag queens. There are women, referred to as queens. There are bodies of all sizes and races and ages, all getting properly turned on by men who tell them they deserve it and really mean it. This is a nearly unprecedented recognition by a major movie studio that women — normal women, half of the population — are sexual beings. And that's totally cool and normal.

Magic Mike XXL still

I feel as if I grew up in a world that told me sex was scary, and nasty, and should be secret. I mostly got this impression from watching movies, and it took me years to rethink that framework.

"Magic Mike" isn't perfect (see: Bechdel test above), but it represents a huge turn for the industry on this front, and I can only hope it's not a one-off.

Gentlemen, this is how you do blazers in the summer

One of the easiest things a gentleman can do to make himself look polished is put on a blazer, but how does one achieve that look without boiling during the summer time?

Jessica Cadmus, our friend over at Wardrobe Whisperer, has an answer for her clients — high powered Wall Streeters and other business types — and you.

Men, she says, typically have formulas for how they dress to make things simpler. One such popular formula is: "jeans/chinos + dress shirt + blazer = night out in the city."

"Although the blazer is a go-to piece in most of my clients' wardrobes it's difficult for them to conceive of wearing a wool (even tropical wool) structured blazer in 80 degree+ weather," Cadmus told Business Insider. "But what to do when they have a big date or their restaurant reservations require a jacket? Turn to the unstructured blazer, that's what."

We're talking about blazers made with cotton and are only half lined, or completely without lining. The jacket breathes, so you stay cool. So no, you don't have to pick up some seersucker if that's not your style.

"Insert into the formula above, and the sum is correct. Other variations include subtracting the dress shirt — or try a linen one — and adding a cotton polo or t-shirt. This revised formula works best in spring, summer, and early fall," Cadmus finished.

And now for some examples, we know you need them.

This one's cotton and twill, but otherwise give you that standard throw-on blazer feel.

There are two scientifically superior ways to make iced coffee with next to no effort

$

iced coffee

To make good iced coffee this summer, don’t just pour coffee over ice cubes.

Experts say there are actually two much better ways to make iced coffee: cold brew and flash brew.

And they’re both surprisingly simple.

Cold Brew

cold brew coffee

Sometimes called the “Toddy Method” after a chemical engineer student at Cornell who popularized the system, the main reason cold brew tastes so good is that it has less acid — an estimated 67% less— than traditional brewing methods.

“Deceptively simple, cold water brewing extracts the delicious flavor compounds (and some of the caffeine) from coffee beans, but leaves behind myriad bitter oils and biting fatty acids, including undesirable elements such as ketons, esters, and amids,” according to the Toddy website.

Because cold brew extracts different flavors than those found in hot coffee, it also tastes much smoother and richer.

“The more delicate fruity and floral flavors that make great coffees distinct from one another need heat to make it into your cup —cold water simply can't dissolve them,” Sam Lewontin, an award-winning barista and KRUPS brand ambassador, told Business Insider in an email. “What it can dissolve are the things that we think of as tasting like ‘coffee’: chocolatey, nutty, and toasty flavors."

cold brew coffee

The best part about cold brew is it’s also easier to make than you’d imagine. All you need is a nut-milk bag, a grinder, a big pitcher (or a blender), and some water.

“As with any cup of coffee, the quality of your ingredients matters,” Lewontin told us. “Use filtered water, and buy the right coffee for the brew method. Because cold brew won't express those delicate fruity and floral flavors, coffees which are inherently chocolatey and nutty will give you the best results. Coffees from Mexico, Brazil, and Indonesia are common favorites."

Fill your nut bag with coarse or medium-coarse coffee grounds and place it in the pitcher. Fill the pitcher with water and let it sit in the fridge overnight or for around 12 hours.

cold brew coffee

In the morning, remove the nut-milk bag (making sure to squeeze out all the excess water) and you’ll have concentrated cold brew that you can mix with water one-to-one for a perfect cup of cold coffee or use to flavor everything from milk shakes to cocktails. Plus it won’t go stale like hot coffee, so it will last for much longer.

Flash Brew

iced coffee flash brew gif

Though cold brew is the more well-known and easier method for making good iced coffee, there is another way called flash-brewing.

The traditional Japanese way to make iced coffee, flash-brew or ice-brew cold coffee is the cold coffee choice of coffee aficionados, mainly because it “traps” the nuances of hot coffee but with all the benefits of a cold brew.

“To flash-brew iced coffee, start by brewing a pot of hot coffee with around 60% as much water as you would ordinarily use,” Lewontin said. “Brew this over-concentrated hot coffee directly on to an amount of ice equivalent to the remaining 40% your brewing water. As the hot coffee melts the ice, it will both chill and dilute, resulting in iced coffee with a level of nuance and complexity that is only possible when brewing with hot water.”

This smart dilution method keeps the flavor strong, as opposed to pouring a regular cup of hot coffee over ice, which will water it down.

Watch the video from Counter Culture Coffee’s Peter Giuliano for a great visual break down of how to flash-brew.

“The hot coffee is cooled down rapidly, locking the aromatics and flavors into the coffee and reducing oxidation,” Giuliano says in the video. “If you leave it hot and then put it over the ice, it will have an oxidized, kind of cardboard-y flavor.”

There’s a lot of science behind why this method tastes so good — Giuliano has a great breakdown here— but the gist of it is that it traps the delicate aromatics released by brewing hot coffee while at the same time cooling the coffee immediately so it won’t go stale or oxidize, which is what makes coffee taste bad.

Giuliano brewing ice coffee

But, Lewontin warns if you decide to make flash brew, it will be harder than cold brewing.

“Flash-brewed coffee requires a lot more attention to detail than cold brew — water temperature, grind size, and brew time have to be just right, as do the exact amounts of coffee, water, and ice,” he said. “But when all of these details come together, the results can be pretty spectacular.”

New York's 'best restaurant' agrees to pay waitstaff $500,000 after investigation finds it withheld tips

One of Manhattan's most expensive restaurants, Thomas Keller's Per Se, home of the $310 tasting menu, has reached a settlement with the New York Attorney General to pay $500,000 to members of its waitstaff after an inquiry found it withheld their tips.

“Today’s agreement ensures that workers at Per Se will not continue to be cheated out of their hard-earned tips — tips that customers intended for them,” Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman said in a statement.

The settlement was reached following a 2013 investigation, which found the restaurant had pocketed the 20% service charges on private banquet and dining customers' bills over a 21-month period in 2011 and 2012. Instead of going to the waiters — who, according to the AG's Action of Decision (AOD), make between $16.60 and $28 per hour — the service fees were used for operational costs.

A press release from the Attorney General's office states that a customer who emailed Per Se to ask whether the 20% service charge was, indeed, the waiter's tip was told that "service/gratuity is certainly included in the pricing.”

The AOD states that the restaurant changed the wording on private-dining checks to reflect the fact that service charges were for operational costs, not gratuity, in September 2012.

A spokesperson for Per Se gave the following comment on the settlement:

In an unintentional oversight, Per Se, unaware of a new state regulation, did not update the description of the operational charge in its private dining event agreement during a 21-month period in 2011 and 2012.  Nearly three years ago, in September 2012, Per Se modified this contract language at its own initiative and has been in compliance since that time. We have reached an agreement with the New York State Attorney General’s office to resolve this issue.

Our employees were never short-changed and no monies intended for employees were withheld. Our employees are among the best compensated in the restaurant industry because they are the best in the business. The Attorney General’s office’s own findings state that the charge was used in part to pay Per Se’s workers their industry-leading wages — a waiter at Per Se, for example, including overtime and gratuities, makes approximately $116,000 a year.

This matter relates to the words that Per Se used to describe its private dining operational charge during a 21-month period three years ago. According to the Attorney General, Per Se should have made it clearer that this charge was not a gratuity. Per Se revised this language on its own, well before it ever heard from the Attorney General’s office, and has been in compliance for nearly three years.

In 2011, The New York Times famously called Per Se "the best restaurant in New York City."

The new version of bubble wrap will disappoint everyone's inner child

bubble wrap

Apparently the makers of bubble wrap have decided they like revenues more than fun.

A new version of Sealed Air Corp.'s signature packaging is out. It's called iBubble Wrap (that's how you know it's hip). But!

The Wall Street Journal brings us this one very disappointing piece of news: "The inflated bubbles look much like traditional Bubble Wrap, with one key difference: They don't burst when pressure is applied."

This is apparently because the new kind is inflated after it is shipped, which means it takes up much less space to ship (and is therefore much cheaper for the company).

But this cost-cutting comes at a price for the rest of us. As any human who was once a child knows, the entire point of getting something wrapped in bubble wrap is popping the little bubbles.

San Francisco mummy home will sell for over $1 million

A San Francisco home that was listed for $928,000 just last week is currently under contract for $1.0295 million.

Located in the city's Richmond District, a fairly desirable neighborhood, the home has one very undesirable flaw: In April of this year, the mummified corpse of the home's former owner was found inside, wrapped in a blanket.

The woman, named Anna Ragin, had reportedly died five years earlier, but her 65-year-old daughter hadn't told anyone that her mother's body was still in the home.

mummified body san franciscoAccording to SocketSite, who first noticed the home had gone into contract, the sale must be confirmed by a court because the Ragin's death had not previously been reported. Until the court confirms it, other interested buyers would have the opportunity to enter their own bids.

The home is apparently in a very sorry state. According to a piece written by Bob Calhoun for SF Weekly, "A fresh coat of paint on the walls and scrubbed floors couldn't quite chase away the smell of toxic mold and urine from the corners of the bedroom and kitchen."

The over-asking sale is just another in a long list of deals that demonstrate how hot the San Francisco housing market is right now.

This up-and-coming fitness studio is turning into Soul Cycle's biggest threat

$

Cycle BarFitness can be an incredibly expensive habit.

Indoor cycling, which has become all the rage with SoulCycle and Flywheel, is notoriously pricey. With $34 a pop Soul Cycle classes (not counting the $2 water and $3 shoe rental), boutique fitness classes can drain your wallet.

But an emerging studio, CycleBar, has a solution.

CycleBar was founded in 2004 by brother-sister duo Bill Pryor and Alex Klemmer. The up-and-coming studio is offering up the boutique indoor cycling experience for a significantly cheaper rate for a single class at a rate of $18-20, depending on the location. Class packages are available in 5, 10, 20, 50, or 100, and drop the per-class price down to as low as $12 per class in some cities.

And the company is expanding like crazy. There are currently three studios in Cincinnati, Boston, and Detroit, and since March, the company has inked deals for 104 franchises to open, many of which are in major cities such as Washington DC, Atlanta, Chicago, Nashville, Austin, and San Francisco. Some of these new locations are expected to launch around mid-October, with around 100 expected to be open by the end of 2016.

Cyclebar Like SoulCycle and Flywheel, the studio makes working out a luxury experience. Riders walk in and are treated by a concierge service. Unlike Soul Cycle (but like Flywheel), they can pick up free water and shoes as a part of the experience.

But in order to really make it in the boutique cycling business, you need to stand out. Soul Cycle has its zen-like mantras. Flywheel has intense athleticism and the famous Torq board that tracks your performance. CycleBar has a unique high-tech cycling theater, complete with a massive video screen, enhanced sound, and lighting designed to match the experience.

Like Flywheel, CycleBar gives people the option to track their performance with, although it's not required.

"If you talk to our clients, some of them don't even use the performance measures, but ... Bill Pryor [the CEO] felt that if you don't offer the stats, then you don't have a platform to be able to do it," said Heather Harris, President of CycleBar.

"The people that do [use it] really love it," she said, as they can track how hard they worked out from class to class and over longer periods of time, like a year. And like Flywheel's Torq board, you became accountable for your work. "You know when you did not work out to the best of your ability," she said.

Should you work out to the best of your ability, Harris says on average people burn 500-700 calories per class. Unlike other big-name studios, CycleBar provides clients with heart rate monitors. The company is working on a phase two version of its heart rate monitor as of now.

CyclebarPeople have the option to try several different classes, all of which pull from the best of the cycling world: a basic intro class for beginners, a classic 50-minute ride, a 50-minute strength ride that focuses on upper body strength, a performance class that focuses on tracking speed and stats, a "connect" ride which incorporates elements of the mind-body connection found in yoga, various themed rides, and an endurance ride for the strong who want a 75-minute workout.

Instructors — or "Cycle Stars" — aren't necessarily people who pursue fitness for a living. Harris said many of them have regular day jobs and found a passion. Rather than going through a Cycle-Bar specific program, they are trained through Mad Dog Athletics; one of the biggest companies for spin instructor certification. Then they put their own spin on their ride for a unique experience.

Cycle Bar also prides itself on its "Cycle Beats," the playlists which the Cycle Stars use for class. The Cycle Beats playlists are readily available for download online, too.

CyclebarMost importantly, CycleBar is tapping the market that wants to work out at luxury studios, but can't necessarily afford expensive classes.

"We love what Fly and Soul are doing because they helped gain credibility to the classification," Harris told Business Insider. "We just think we are bringing a great product to market, and we're pricing it for the masses. We don't like the feeling that [...] only the richest people can afford boutique fitness. That is exactly the reason why we got into the space with the pricing model that we did."

People are completely defeating the purpose of sunscreen with a new "sunburn art" trend.

Instagrammers are sharing pictures of their artfully sunburned skin with hashtags like #sunburnart, #tantattoo, and #suntattoo. The pictures range from floral to funny, but they all have one thing in common — visibly burnt skin surrounding a design on paler skin.

There are entire Pinterest boards devoted to techniques for burning flesh with cutesy images including hearts, flowers, and the ever popular infinity symbol.

tan tattoo

The most popular method involves using sunscreen as paint. Apply sunscreen in your desired shape and leave it on while you lay in the sun. The skin around the sunscreen shape will darken, creating visible contrast.

If you want to recreate the sunburn art, there's a way to do it without totally scorching yourself. Just use two sunscreens with different SPF levels to create your tattoo. So if you're using SPF 25 on your body, use SPF 50 for the tattoo itself.

Pinterest users also suggest using nail polish to create your tattoo. Unlike the sunscreen method, nail polish is waterproof.

That said, nail polish and acetone are known skin irritants. And any time the sun changes the color of your skin, you are putting yourself at risk. If you’re going to test these techniques, proceed with caution.

College kids are convinced Snapchat is ruining their love lives: 'We need to start dating again'

Why we need to start dating again

In the same publication that discovered and defined "the dad bod," a new essay about the love lives (or lack thereof) of college students and high schoolers is becoming the new anthem for the romantically frustrated.

"Why We Need To Start Dating Again," written by Eileen Curran back in May on The Odyssey, is an array of complaints about human behavior in the digital age.

"Snapchats and Instagram 'likes' have become acceptable forms of flirting. A 'like' on Instagram is way more common than a compliment in real life," she writes. "Date night has evolved from going out to dinner, playing putt-putt (a completely underrated pastime in my opinion) or doing anything relatively thoughtful, to watching Netflix and maybe ordering a pizza."

You can almost hear the thundering cheers after each of Curran's issues with life in the time of Snapchat.

What do we want? Real dates!

When do we want them? Now!

crowd, cheering, cheer, crazy, energy, excited, gov ball, Governors Ball 2012, Randall's Island, NYC, New York City, Festivals, Music, Live Performance, BI, DNG

"A girl doesn't want to commit to the guy she 'has a thing' with," she explains, "but she gets mad when she sees that he is liking other girls photos on Instagram!"

The essay has found its way into the hands of Teen Twitter, a massive conglomerate of Twitter accounts like @girlnotes and @relationships that tweet diary-like blips like this:

And this:

Now, Curran's diatribe has become something to emoji prayer hands about:

Thousands have retweeted and favorited the article, which was shared via three photos of the original article (not fair use, FYI!)

And people have very strong feelings about it:

People are dying to bring the art of the date back!

"Instead of sending a Snapchat to that person you have your eye on, why not ask them out on a real date? I get it. It's scary," Curran writes.

Some people related to the essay and were inspired to take their personal gripes to Twitter.

She's really sold on the idea that Instagram and Snapchat are ruining the dating experience:

It seems like no one is actually dating anymore. Everyone is "talking" or "has a thing with someone" or is "kind of dating" that one guy from bio lab. No one wants the commitment of a real relationship, but they don't want to be alone, either. A guy won't take the girl he's "talking to" on an actual date, but when he sees that her best friend on Snapchat is another guy, he freaks out.

But the lack of college dating isn't new. Snapchat and Instagram didn't exist in my age of flip phones on campus, but romance was still scarce. It's four years where people are more likely to hook up at a party before getting to know each other instead of going out to a proper dinner (what dining hall is the fanciest?) and Curran's missive confirms human behavior isn't changing, we just have new technology to blame.

Redditors are disgusted by one man's photo of a pathetic breakfast sandwich

Airplane food is known for being terrible, but nobody ever said anything about airport food.

Earlier this week, Reddit user "spambox" posted a photo of a bacon and egg sandwich he was allegedly served in an airport in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Instead of a proper breakfast, the piece of bacon and egg were so tiny that they looked more like plastic, play-food.

Here's a look at the pathetic meal which cost  £3.20 or roughly $5.

"I never asked for a refund as I figured it must just be overpriced s*** cause it’s an airport," spambox writes of the bleak breakfast

Since the image was shared on Sunday, it has received 1,593 reddit upvote points and many users are commenting in support.

The airport has since apologized for their culinary fail.

"Sadly on this occasion we fell below the mark and offer our apologies to this customer. Clearly this is not the service we should be providing and we will be addressing this complaint," a spokesperson for the airport told The Scotsman

Here's why every American traveler should sign up for TSA PreCheck

If you could get an upgrade from economy to business class, you'd do that, right?

Well, getting TSA PreCheck is basically the preflight upgrade equivalent, and it's something that every American citizen who flies often should consider getting.

Here's everything you need to know about TSA PreCheck.

What is TSA PreCheck?

TSA PreCheck means that you have been pre-approved by the US Customs and Border Protection, and deemed a low-risk traveler (at least for domestic US travel, and when departing from a US airport to travel internationally).

So what does having TSA PreCheck mean for me?

It means that you can skip lengthy security lines by getting into a special PreCheck line, and that you get to cut down on a few common security checks. For instance, you'll be able to keep your shoes and belt on, even a light jacket. You also don't have to rummage through your bag to remove your laptop. Essentially, PreCheck means getting herded through security as quickly and efficiently as possible — so the opposite of your usual experience.

Can anyone get it?

Most US citizens or permanent residents who don't have a criminal background are eligible for TSA PreCheck. Foreigners can get it if they have Global Entry, as PreCheck also comes with other Department of Homeland Security Trusted Traveler programs, like Global Entry, Nexus, and Sentri.

How much does it cost?

$85, and it lasts for five years.

Does PreCheck work anywhere?

Right now, PreCheck is compatible with 11 carriers at over 120 airports. Participating airlines include Air Canada, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Hawaiian Airlines, JetBlue Airways, Southwest Airlines, Sun Country Airlines, United Airlines, US Airways, and Virgin America.

Do I get a badge or something? How will people know I'm special?

Once you've been cleared, you'll get a KTN, a nine-digit Known Traveler Number, which you'll need to include in your flight reservations and will then be embedded in the barcode of your boarding pass.

Can my family get on the fast lane with me?

Only family members that are 12 or younger. Those 13 and up will need to get PreCheck themselves.

What do I need to do to apply?

The application is fairly simple. You complete some light paperwork online, pay the $85, and then set up a brief interview at one of over 300 application centers. Yes, you have to show up in person. No, it doesn’t take long. Basically you’re just submitting proof of citizenship, submitting your fingerprints, and answering a few personal questions about your travels.

Where can I apply?

You can apply right here.

What's the difference between TSA PreCheck and Global Entry?

Unlike the domestically oriented TSA PreCheck, Global Entry, for only $25 more, makes coming home from an international trip easier, as it cuts down on the paperwork and processing lines. That said, you need a passport to get it, and you'd be surprised at how many Americans don't have one.

Some people think America will be turning 2015-years-old on the 4th of July

July 4

Every year on the 4th of July, the internet is alive with the sound of people warmly wishing America a very happy birthday.

This year, the United States will turn 2015 years old.

This is one of the world wide web's favorite jokes, tweeted with either thick irony or absolutely none at all.

It was brought to the attention of the masses two years ago when a man named Chase Oros tweeted a photo of his Twitter timeline.

User @_vroom was retweeting people who were wishing America a happy 2013th birthday.

Since then, BuzzFeed wrote about it (People actually think America is turning 2014 years old this July 4th). Mashable wrote about it.

In 2013, The Daily Mail sarcastically lauded Americans for thinking the country's birthday fell on New Year's Day.

Many people also use Christmas day to tweet their happy birthdays to Jesus, who, according to some, turned 2014 years old last December 25th.

Or maybe that was the world who turned 2014, no one knows for sure.

A brief history lesson and reminder: July 4th serves as the official anniversary of when the thirteen colonies declared independence from Britain in 1776, making 2015 the 239th year of America's independence.

While I am sure it would appreciate the patriotic cake balls, America is not 2,015 years old.
