A lottery winner is selling his massive California mountain estate at more than a $19 million price cut.

Originally listed for $26 million in 2018, the Eagle Crest Estate is now up for auction with Concierge Auctions at a minimum price of $6.9 million, the auction house told Business Insider.

Rick Knudsen won the $180 million California Mega Millions jackpot in 2014, quit his job, and bought the house— which was still under construction — for $5.5 million, according to The Wall Street Journal. He went on to buy an adjacent buffalo ranch and another swath of land, piecing together 845 acres in total.

Here's a look at the massive estate.

A lottery winner is selling his 16,000-square-foot mountain home that sits on 845 acres on Little San Gorgonio Mountain in Oak Glen, California, at a $19.1 million price cut. Previously listed for $26 million, it's now up for auction at a minimum price of $6.9 million. The Eagle Crest Estate is listed with Craig Strong at Compass.

At its previous price, the estate included commercial property in the nearby town of Oak Glen: a steakhouse and saloon that are no longer for sale.

Strong said the reason for the hefty price cut is that "the sellers are motivated to move the property."

Every traveler should get this $11 luggage scale before their next international flight

Luggage Scale

  • International overweight bag fees range from $50 to $200 depending on airline carriers and how much your bag is over the predetermined limit.
  • This $11 digital luggage scale can save you hours of frustration and hundreds of dollars even if you don't consider yourself an overpacker.
  • It can weigh bags and suitcases up to 100 pounds. It also weighs less than five ounces itself, so it won't add much to your overall bag weight.

There's no bigger rush than finding an international flight deal. There's also no bigger buzzkill than finding out that there are unreasonably low bag weights.

So, before I went on a two-week, three-city vacation to Australia, I bought this $11 digital luggage scale from Etekcity. It saved me from having to pay $80 in overweight baggage fees on that trip alone.

After booking my tickets to Australia, when I read that passengers could only bring one carry-on and one personal item that totaled to 15 pounds and check-in bags couldn't be more than 40 pounds, I knew I was going to have a hard time packing. Even though I was traveling for two weeks, you can bet that I was packing three weeks' worth of clothes, accessories, shoes, and makeup. Not to mention I had to save space for all the souvenirs I'd bring home.

The digital scale proved to be a lifesaver. I was able to weigh my bags throughout my packing process so I packed more thoughtfully (I guess I didn't need five pairs of jeans after all) and avoided paying overweight baggage fees on all the legs of my trip.

Etekcity Luggage Scale

The scale is super small and weighs under five ounces so it'll barely register in your suitcase, and using it is fool-proof.

Once you've packed your bag or suitcase, loop the scale around any handle. Then lift the scale up for a few seconds, and the digital display will show how much your bag weighs. From there, you can repack as needed in the comfort of your own home — not at the airport in front of 12 annoyed passengers and future seatmates. Even if you aren't an overpacker like me, you'll have total peace of mind just in case check-in agents try to scam you and say your bag is over the weight limit.

Since I bought this scale, I've used it on trips to Iceland, Hong Kong, Turks and Caicos, Greece, and more, and have never had an issue with overweight baggage. In fact, it's helped me discover that I had more room in my suitcase for shoes.

Buy the Etekcity Digital Luggage Scale from Amazon for $10.99

A day in the life of a Russian diamond miner in Siberia, who wakes up at 5:30 a.m., spends 9 hours a day in the mine, and gets 76 vacation days per year

Innokentiy Nogovitsyn is a diamond miner in Siberia for Alrosa, the world's largest diamond producer by volume.

Nogovitsyn lives in the town of Mirny, a diamond mining town in RussianSiberia about 280 miles (450 kilometers) from the Arctic Circle, where most of the town's roughly 40,000 residents work for Alrosa.

His job is to monitor methane levels, air flow, and temperature in the mine.

On a recent trip to Russia, I had the chance to tour Alrosa's facilities and meet Nogovitsyn, who has been working as a miner for eight years. While he didn't speak English and I don't speak Russian, a translator helped me understand what a day in his life generally looks like. I wasn't able to follow Nogovitsyn into the mine for safety reasons, but we met at a hotel café in Mirny, and he later sent me photos taken by himself and his fellow miners.

Here's what a typical day looks like for Nogovitsyn as a diamond miner in Siberia.

SEE ALSO: Photos show what life is like in a Siberian diamond mining town on the edge of the Arctic Circle, which is home to 40,000 people and where the sun is up for 20 hours a day in the summer

DON'T MISS: I rode the legendary Trans-Siberian Railway on a 2,000-mile journey across 4 time zones in Russia. Here's what it was like spending 50 hours on the longest train line in the world.

Innokentiy Nogovitsyn is a diamond miner in Siberia. He works for Alrosa, the world's largest diamond miner by volume.

Nogovitsyn lives in Mirny, a diamond mining town inSiberia about 280 miles (450 kilometers) from the Arctic Circle.

Mirny has been called a "mono-city" because most of the town's roughly 40,000 residents work for Alrosa.

Nogovitsyn lives in an apartment in Mirny with his wife and their two children: an 8-year-old daughter and a 5-year-old son.

Nogovitsyn usually wakes up at 5:30 a.m.

At 6:15 a.m., Nogovitsyn catches a bus to the mine where he works, called the International mine, just outside of Mirny.

It's about a 30-minute bus ride to the mine.

The International mine, which is about 10 miles (16 kilometers) from Mirny, opened in 1999.

The International mine is open 24/7, with miners rotating through morning, evening, and night shifts. It produces the world's largest content of carats per tonne of ore: seven carats of diamond per tonne of ore.

In April 2019, a 118.91-carat diamond was mined at the International mine.

Before every shift, Nogovitsyn and all the other miners get a medical check.

Their blood pressure and heart rate are measured, and they get checked for any alcohol or drugs in their blood.

"We are living in Russia, so you have to face it that some people just cannot live without alcohol," an Alrosa spokesperson, Diana Petrenko, told Business Insider. "Some people try to sneak it in. So to make sure there are no people taking in alcohol, they test twice, on the way in and on the way out."

If an employee is caught with alcohol, they're immediately fired, Petrenko said.

At the mine, it's said that nobody is irreplaceable.

Before their shift, the miners eat a buffet-style breakfast in the workers' canteen.

Alrosa provides a stipend that covers all of the miners' meals in the canteen.

After breakfast, the miners are assigned their particular job for the day, and then they have five minutes to change into their uniforms.

The uniforms include headlamps, safety helmets, and sturdy boots.

After everyone is dressed, it's time to head down into the mine.

Nogovitsyn said that during one shift, there are about 100 people in the International mine.

The miners take an elevator down into the depths of the mine.

The deepest point of the mine is about 0.62 miles (one kilometer) deep.

To ride the elevator from the surface to the bottom of the mine takes about 15 minutes, Nogovitsyn said.

In the mine, Nogovitsyn's job is to monitor methane levels, air flow, and temperature.

He walks throughout the mine all day monitoring the air. In one shift, he said he walks an average of about 9 miles, or 15 kilometers.

Thanks to a ventilation system that pumps in warmed air, the mine stays at a consistent temperature — even throughout Siberia's harsh winters.

Depending on how deep you are in the mine, the temperature ranges between about 62 degrees Fahrenheit (19 degrees Celsius) to 77 degrees Fahrenheit (25 degrees Celsius).

Nogovitsyn eats lunch down in the mine.

The miners usually pack containers of food from the canteen to eat for lunch.

At 4:50 p.m., the miners take the elevator back up to the surface.

At the end of his shift, Nogovitsyn has to write a report and get another quick medical examination, this time just checking for any alcohol in his system.

He usually leaves the mine at 5:30 p.m. and gets home at 6:00 p.m., about 12 hours after he leaves in the morning.

In his free time, Nogovitsyn spends time with his family.

After he gets home, Nogovitsyn typically does a workout or takes his kids to play in the park, and then he eats dinner with his family.

Nogovitsyn gets 76 paid vacation days per year, which, he said, he often spends cycling hundreds of miles across Russia and Europe.

Throughout the year, Nogovitsyn typically works four days in a row followed by one or two days off.

He works on this schedule for several months and then takes all of his 76 vacation days at once. He said he usually spends half of that time with his family and half of that time embarking on hundreds of miles-long cycling trips across Europe and Asia, often accompanied by his friend and fellow Alrosa miner, Danil.

He has cycled through countries including France, Norway, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, and Singapore.

Some years, instead of cycling, Nogovitsyn will spend half of his vacation days on hunting or fishing trips with Danil.

According to an Alrosa spokesperson, in Russia, diamond mining is classified as a dangerous profession, which is why the miners get so many vacation days.

Employees of Alrosa and their families have access to a number of social initiatives, Petrenko told Business Insider, including sports facilities, cultural and educational programs, free medical services, corporate pensions, housing programs, and support with real-estate loans.

NOW WATCH: 5 things wrong with Apple's lightning cable

I haven't gone to a grocery store in months or a drugstore in years — I use Instacart and Amazon Subscribe & Save instead

Instacart cart photo

  • Ordering groceries and household items online has saved me so much time and money — I haven't been to a grocery store in months or a drugstore in years.
  • I buy groceries via Instacart and use Amazon Subscribe & Save for household items like laundry pods, toothpaste, contact-lens solution, and more.
  • In addition reclaiming my time, I've also never run out of anything I need since I'm forced to take inventory of items before I put in an order.

I am, by no means, an Adult who has her life together, but I'm actually proud to report that I haven't gone to a grocery store in months or run out of toothpaste in years. Not because I forage or have questionable personal hygiene, but because I've been using Instacart and Amazon Subscribe & Save.

With the exception of going to Costco on weekends for its endless samples and surprisingly good assortment of succulents, I haven't gone to a grocery store in months. Instead, I use the online-delivery service Instacart. The stores in which you can shop at are determined by your location, but major chains like Whole Foods, Fairway, and Costco are available in most metropolitan places.

There are monthly and annual Express and Non-Express plans starting at $9.99; my fiancé and I have a $99 annual Express membership that gets us unlimited free delivery over $35. We're able to hit the minimum easily since we do a bi-weekly Costco haul.

All you have to do is select the grocery store you want to shop, choose a delivery window, and put whatever you want in your virtual cart — it's really just like the in-store experience but without the physical aspect. I've been able to buy nearly every item I want from fresh produce to frozen fruit to pantry staples and have never felt like the online selection is smaller than what's in stores.

The delivery is also equally impressive and seamless. You just choose any two-hour window in which you're home to accept the groceries; sometimes I've been able to get them within two hours of ordering.

One of my favorite things about the whole service is its customer service. If produce isn't fresh or a boxed item gets dinged up badly during transit (which isn't often), you can contact customer service and they'll refund you for the amount of the item. I've also had maybe two instances where delivery was delayed, but they were around the holidays and I was notified early on in the process so they weren't an issue for me. Instacart and the shopper assigned to your delivery will also regularly update you between when you put in the order and actually receive it, so you always know where your avocados are.

I'm also fully aware of Instacart's track record of bad management and taking from tips from its shoppers, so I make sure to give an extra tip to my shopper and driver through the app after delivery or directly in cash.

Instacart walking photo

For household items and pantry items like dishwashing liquid, matcha powder, batteries, and toothpaste, we use Amazon Subscribe & Save. It's an overlooked Amazon service in which you subscribe to certain items for regular deliveries — basically a customized subscription box in which you'll actually use all the items.

We set up a three-month subscription for the 25+ items that we're subscribed to, but we really just get the same five or six items each month. It's so annoying to realize that you're out of everyday items like contacts solution, toothpaste, and toilet paper right before you need it and then be forced to go out to the pharmacy at some weird time of the evening. That never happens to me now. I'm so well-stocked that it's like I'm running a mini-mart out of my living room.

If you have five or more items in your Subscribe & Save shipment, you can get up to 15% off on your whole order. On top of that, if you have an Amazon store card (which I highly recommend getting), you also earn 5% cash back on your order. I won't/can't do the math, but it's a great deal. And because it's Amazon, it comes in just a few days.

I really like the fact that both services give us our time back and help us save money in the long run. I no longer spend 30 minutes browsing through aisles at the grocery store or pharmacy for things I don't need or picking up three boxes of pasta because they're on sale for $0.79. I will however hit up Costco this weekend for some more succulents.

Lauren Hashian (L) and Dwayne Johnson attend the premiere of Columbia Pictures'

Congratulations are in order for Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. The "Hobbs & Shaw" actor just tied the knot with longtime girlfriend Lauren Hashian in a secret Hawaiian ceremony.

As Johnson's personal life is flourishing, his professional life continues to do the same. He ranked 15th on Forbes' 2019 list of the world's highest-paid celebrities, topping the list of the highest-paid actors in the world. According to Forbes, the former WWE star earned $89.4 million over the course of the year. He's been called a movie "franchise unto himself."

One of the hardest working people in show business, Johnson stars in blockbuster movies and TV shows, runs his own production company, and gets a few extra bucks from endorsements. Yet the actor also knows how to enjoy himself and spend his hard-earned cash in his downtime.

Johnson is a box-office juggernaut. Past successes have led to him commanding bigger pay days for upcoming films.

A few recent hits include:

He also famously eats — or ate — tons of cod.

In 2015, he revealed his diet to Muscle & Fitness. FiveThirtyEight counted it all up and found that Johnson consumes 821 pounds of cod in a year. Given that cod goes for about $1.75 per pound, that means he was spending about $1,400 per year on fish.

However, in early 2016, Johnson revealed via Business Insider's Dave Mosher that he cut cod out of his diet.

To stay in tip top shape, Johnson works with several personal trainers. As of 2016, one of them was Aaron Williamson, who has also worked with J.K. Simmons and Jai Courtney. His programs range from $100-$250 per month.

As a kid, Johnson always dreamed of owning a Rolex. The first one he ever bought, while still a wrestler, cost $35,000.

The Rock is also into the real-estate game. He's owned a few million-dollar mansions, and, according to Zillow, he sold at least 10 homes between 2006 and 2016 — in Florida alone.

Among those homes is this 5-bedroom, 7-bath mansion in Southwest Ranches, Florida, he bought in 2012 for $3.4 million. He sold it a year later for $3 million.

He also sold a 6-bedroom home in Hidden Hills, California, for $4.9 million in 2012.

In March 2019, Johnson also shared with fans via Instagram that he surprised his dad, former pro-wrestler Rocky Johnson, with the news that he intended to buy him a new house.

He's welcomed two daughters with his longtime partner, singer and music producer Lauren Hashian. Jasmine was born in December 2015, and Tiana was born in April 2018.

With high-profile movies on the horizon like the big screen adaptation of "Jungle Cruise" and a "Jumanji" sequel, it looks like The Rock will have plenty more spending money for years to come.

I use Amex Offers to find exclusive discounts at stores and restaurants like Amazon and Starbucks — here are some of the offers you can get right now

American Express platinum card

  • Every American Express card features a program called Amex Offers, which gives huge discounts or bonus rewards points when you use your card for purchases at certain retailers, restaurants, or services.
  • If you have cards like the Platinum Card® from American Express or the American Express® Gold Card, you can save hundreds of dollars each year, or earn thousands of extra points.
  • Offers are specifically targeted to each person, and even each different card that person has. That means that having a few Amex cards means you'll likely get access to a wider range of offers.
  • Take a look below at a small sample of the offers currently available across Amex cards.
  • If you're interested in opening a new credit card to get more offers (and earn a ton of welcome points), check out our guide to the best Amex cards.

While plenty of well-known perks are attached to various Amex cards — the Amex Platinum Card gets you access to more than 1,000 airport lounges around the world, for instance — there are also a lot of lesser-known benefits.

One of those benefits that's available through virtually every Amex card, but isn't the most widely known, is Amex Offers.

What are Amex Offers?

The Amex Offers program provides cardholders with discounts at various stores, restaurants, or services, or, if not a discount, then chances to earn extra points.

The interesting part of the program is that each offer is specifically targeted to individual users and each user's individual cards. That means that you and I might get different offers, and I might even see different offers across my several different Amex cards. That adds a real benefit to having multiple Amex cards — even if you just use them to be eligible for more offers, you have a better chance of getting good ones.

One of the appeals of the Amex Offers program is that the offers continuously change. Offers can be for national brands, but are also targeted based on your billing address — for example, I have a few offers for shops and restaurants that have a New York City location.

Current Amex Offers

Here are some of the particularly interesting Amex Offers currently available. Keep in mind that some of may no longer be available, and some are specifically targeted.

  • Get 2 extra Membership Rewards points on every dollar spent at Amazon.com.
  • Spend $5 or more at Hulu, get $5 back, up to four times.
  • Save 10% or 15% at Starbucks, up to $5.
  • Spend $500 or more at Hilton Hotels and Resorts in Europe, get $100 back.
  • Spend $125 or more at Levi's, get $25 back.
  • Spend $500 or more at MGM Resortsin Las Vegas, get 10,000 Membership Rewards points.
  • Spend $250 or more at Best Buy, get 2,500 Membership Rewards points.
  • Spend $1,500 or more at Casper mattresses, get $300 back or 30,000 Membership Rewards points.

How to delete your YouTube history all at once, or remove videos one at a time, on desktop or mobile

youtube app

YouTube is a treasure trove of videos, from vlogs to music videos to full-length movies. You can seriously lose hours on the site, and your history will quickly fill up with all the videos you've watched.

While it can sometimes be convenient to have a record of what you've watched on YouTube, in case you want to re-watch a particular clip at a later date, not everyone is fond of the site's ability to track and display your viewing history.

If you're one of these people, you may want to delete your YouTube history regularly. Thankfully, doing this is quick and easy and won't take more than a few seconds.

Here's how to do it on your desktop, or in the iPhone or Android mobile app.

Check out the products mentioned in this article:

iPhone Xs (From $999.99 at Best Buy)

Google Pixel 3 (From $799.99 at Best Buy)

How to delete your YouTube history on desktop

1. Go to https://www.youtube.com and ensure you're logged into your account.

2. Using the menu on the left-hand side of your screen, click on the History option to be taken to your YouTube History page.

3. On the right side of the History screen, click the "Clear all watch history" option, which will launch a pop-up window asking you to confirm the deletion of your YouTube history on all devices you're signed in on.

screen 1

4. Click "Clear watch history" again to complete the deletion process.

screen 2

When you hover over every title in your history, an X will appear next to it. You can click that to remove specific videos from your history instead of clearing your entire history at once.

How to delete your YouTube history on the mobile app

1. Locate the YouTube icon on your phone's home screen and tap to open it.

2. Tap the Library button on the bottom right-hand corner of your screen. The icon will look like a file folder.

3. On your Library screen, tap the History option.

4. On the History screen, look for the three vertically-stacked lines or dots in the upper right-hand corner of your screen, just to the right of the search icon, and tap them.

5. Tap "History controls," then "Clear watch history" under the History and privacy header.

6. A pop-up will appear asking you to confirm the deletion of your YouTube watch history across all devices in which you're signed into your account. Tap "Clear watch history" again to complete the deletion process.

If you want to remove singular videos from your history instead of deleting the entire thing, tap the three dots next to any video's title and tap "Remove from Watch History."

NOW WATCH: Watch SpaceX's 'most difficult launch ever'

I tried this $229 cordless string trimmer, and now I’m done messing with gas-powered weed whackers

EGO String Trimmer

  • A high-quality string trimmer is easy to handle and control, can trim tall grass and weeds, and does an excellent job of edging.
  • I like the EGO 56-Volt Lith-Ion Cordless Electric 15-Inch String Trimmer because it runs for 30 minutes on a single charge, makes reloading the cutting line effortless, and it feels comfortable and balanced in my hands.
  • Though it's more expensive than most string trimmers (currently $229 from Home Depot), the EGO weed whacker comes with a 2.5 Ah battery and battery charger that are compatible with other EGO equipment, and it's backed by a five-year limited warranty.

I love my lawnmower. It does an excellent job cutting the vast majority of my yard. However, there are places where it simply does not reach no matter how hard I try. This is where a good string trimmer comes in handy. Also known as weed whackers, string trimmers get those hard-to-reach places and help you achieve nice, tidy edges along your walkways.

EGO recently sent me their 56-Volt Lith-Ion Cordless Electric 15-Inch String Trimmer to test, and I was impressed with the battery life and how comfortable it felt in my hands. Below are the details of my experience with it.

Specs

The EGO String Trimmer Kit that I tested comes with a 2.5 Ah battery, a battery charger that plugs into your wall, and some extra trimmer line. Here are the important specifications:

  • Carbon fiber shaft backed by a lifetime warranty
  • 15-inch cutting swath
  • Dual-line
  • Compatible with .095-inch and .080-inch lines
  • Variable speed control
  • Antivibration
  • Bump line advance
  • Weighs 12 pounds

Additionally, Home Depot offers a 90-day return policy on the trimmer. And it's backed by a five-year limited warranty.

Set-up process

EGO Rapid Charger

Before using the string trimmer, you need to charge the battery. I own the EGO Rapid Charger, so I indulged my impatient side and used it for a faster charge. In the meantime, I unfolded and secured the shaft, mounted the guard, and installed the front-assist handle.

Once I was done fully assembling the trimmer — a process that takes less than 30 minutes — the battery was completely charged.

The trimmer comes with the cutting line already installed in the head, but installing it yourself is simple thanks to the rapid-load head. You simply feed the line through the appropriate holes. Make sure that the same amount of line is coming out of both ends. Then you press the line-loading button which winds the line up inside the head.

To start the trimmer, you just press the lock-off button and engage the switch trigger.

What the string trimmer is like to use

Once the trimmer was ready to go, it was quite easy to use. I don't have much experience weed whacking, so I made a point of reading the user manual closely. It was helpful and simple to follow. Before you get started, you should put on a long-sleeve shirt and pants along with eye protection.

EGO String Trimmer 3

When I let the weeds go a little wild in my yard, the 2.5 Ah battery didn't have enough juice to finish the job. It came close but petered out after running for 30 minutes. Fortunately, I then turned to the 7.5 Ah battery that came with my EGO lawnmower and I was able to complete my yard work. I thought my arms would easily tire using the 7.5 Ah battery since it weighs significantly more, but the added weight was negligible.

Even with the heavier battery, the weed cutter has impressive balance. This is a major benefit during more labor-intensive jobs where muscle fatigue could become a factor.

The EGO weed whacker trims even tall weeds and grass easily on a single pass. And, along sidewalks, it produces clean edges. Though the trimmer is still fairly loud since it involves a cutting line whacking at grass and weeds, it's much quieter than gas-powered units.

The battery charger that comes with the trimmer takes about 45 minutes to charge the 2.5 Ah battery from dead to full, which was fast enough for my needs.

Cons to consider

Securing the front-assist handle to the shaft was a pain. First, I had to unscrew the four screws that held it together to fit it on the shaft. I didn't realize that the nuts weren't held in place, so two of them fell out. I thought I placed them in a safe spot, but I was outside, and the wind sent them flying. I lost one and didn't have a replacement on hand. Fortunately, the handle stayed secure despite only having three screws holding it in place.

You might consider buying extra EGO batteries so you can keep whacking when your battery dies. Unfortunately, they're incredibly expensive. A new 2.5 Ah battery is currently $149 from Home Depot. At that price, it makes sense to buy another EGO tool that comes with a battery. For example, for $50 more than the price of the battery alone, you can pick up an EGO electric blower, which comes with the 2.5 Ah battery.

EGO String Trimmer 4

Should you buy it?

Despite these minor drawbacks, there's a lot to love about the EGO String Trimmer. But should you buy it? And what model should you get?

If you just want a bottom-line answer, here it is: If you are looking for a tool that will get the hard-to-reach parts of your yard and cleans up your edges, the EGO Cordless String Trimmer is an excellent choice. This is especially true if you own other EGO outdoor equipment since you can use the batteries interchangeably. However, if you own cordless equipment from another company and the batteries are compatible, you might want to consider staying with the same brand for your weed whacker.

Which model should you get?

Home Depot offers about eight models of EGO string trimmers as well as reconditioned options. The main differences between the models are the types of shafts and accessories. Even if you have several EGO batteries, we recommend buying a trimmer that comes with a battery because the marginal cost is so low compared to buying a battery on its own. You never know when an extra might come in handy.

Some of the trimmers come with 5.0 Ah batteries. We think you can skip this option. Still, it might be helpful if trimming and edging your lawn takes more than half an hour, and you don't mind lugging around the heavier battery.

Follow this link to see the exact model that I tested.

What are your alternatives?

For recommendations on other weed whackers, check out our guide to the best string trimmers.

Overall, I strongly recommend the EGO 56v Lithium-Ion Cordless String Trimmer if you are looking for a weed whacker that doesn't require gas, is lightweight, easy to load, and has long run and fast charge times.

Pros: Cordless, lightweight, 30-minute run time with included 2.5 Ah battery, fast 45-minute charge time, easy line loading, dual lines, the battery is compatible with other EGO equipment

Cons: Additional batteries are expensive

Buy the EGO 56-Volt Lith-Ion Cordless Electric 15-Inch String Trimmer from Home Depot for $229

How to change the background wallpaper on your iPhone, and set a different image for your home and lock screens

iPhone X

Most people spend a good chunk of their day staring at their phone. Because of this, it's important to be able to customize your phone with the apps and settings you want, as well as the image (or images) you want displayed in your phone's background.

If you own an iPhone, changing the background on your home screen is quick and easy. Better yet, you can choose separate images for both your home screen and lock screen.

This means you can display more than one of your beloved photos of your pets on your iPhone, which is bound to make you smile every time you see it.

Here's how to do it.

Check out the products mentioned in this article:

iPhone Xs (From $999.99 at Best Buy)

How to change the background picture on your iPhone

1. On your iPhone's home screen, look for the Settings icon and tap to open it.

2. Scroll down to find the Wallpaper option, and tap it to be taken to the current images you have set.

IMG_8109

3. Tap "Choose a New Wallpaper," and then locate the photo on your phone that you'd like to use. Note that you can always choose a standard iPhone background, which is stored on your phone by default, or pull one from your image library.

4. Tap on the image you would like to set as your background. This will launch a preview screen, on which you can choose to have the photo appear in Still or Perspective mode. Still photos will always look the same, while Perspective photos will move and shift position as you move your phone. When you're satisfied with how the photo looks, tap Set.

IMG_8110.PNG

5. A pop-up will appear asking you to choose whether you want to set the image as your Lock Screen, Home Screen, or both. Tap on your choice and the wallpaper will be set.

Note that if you're choosing separate images for your Home and Lock Screens, simply repeat steps one through four, but choose the relevant place you want the image to appear.

NOW WATCH: Here's why phone companies like Verizon and AT&T charge more for extra data

Popular mattress startup Casper makes really impressive sheets — and they're 40% off right now

$

casper sheets main

  • Casper is known first and foremost for its mattresses, but it has also expanded into making bedding products like sheets and pillows.
  • I tried a selection from its Cool Supima line and was rewarded with a comfortable sleep experience: The cotton sheets are cool and crisp, the duvet cover is weighty and well-designed, and the pillow is soft yet supportive.
  • From a mattress-first company, the bedding is impressively good and offered at a reasonable price, too. In addition to Cool Supima, you can shop Linen and Cotton options.
  • Right now while supplies last, Cool Supima sheets are up to 40% off
  • We know our readers can't pass up a great deal. You can find coupons and promo codes for Casper here.

When shopping for bedding, I tend to look for the brands that make it their core business and have been producing it for years — but when I heard about mattress start-up Casper's foray into bedding, I was intrigued. At $140, its Cool Supima queen-sized sheet set sits between the value-focused Brooklinen and $200+ options from Parachute, Boll & Branch, and Snowe, so purely based on price, it seemed to strike a good balance. Since Casper clearly has an understanding of the mattresses people like to sleep on, I hoped that it could also perfect the bedding that goes over that mattress.

I tried Casper's sheets, duvet cover, and pillow, and after many nights of great sleep, I can now count its bedding products among my favorites. Below, I break down how this mattress-first company won me over with its bedding.

The sheets

The Cool Supima sheet set comes with one flat sheet, one fitted sheet, and two standard pillowcases (one pillowcase for twin/twin XL sizes). It's available in 14 colors. I opted for the white/slate color because I wanted the clean, neutral look of a hotel room, but not the sterility of an all-white ensemble.

I encountered no problems changing into these sheets. The thick stretchy elastic on the inside of the fitted sheet is rubberized, letting it grip onto the mattress and leaving little room for the sheets to move around.

I found that while it was just slightly big, it wasn't enough to bother me and Casper says the extra fabric is to account for the industry-standard two percent shrink factor. If you'd like, you can wash the sheets before your first use. As for the flat sheet, my personal preference is to not sleep with one, but if my experience with the fitted sheet and pillowcases are any indication, the flat sheet should be equally enjoyable to sleep with.

The sheet set is made from extra-long staple Supima cotton, which represents less than 1% of cotton grown in the world. These long continuous fibers are stronger and softer than the shorter fibers of regular cotton, resulting in longer-lasting, piling-resistant, and comfortable sheets that are certainly worth the investment. Meanwhile, the percale weave — a standard one-yarn-over, one-yarn-under weave — is what gives the sheets their crisp, cool feel. They're perfect for the summer and warmer climates, or if you tend to overheat in your sleep.

sheet set

The duvet cover

For an additional $90 to $140, you can add a matching duvet cover to your sheet set, and we highly recommend you do so. Insider Picks senior editor Ellen Hoffman, who also tested the sheets and cover set, can't praise it enough for its superior design details that solve for the annoying inconveniences of typical duvet covers. There's no way you'll button up the wrong buttons and have to start all over again because there are no buttons, just a zipper and snaps in the corners. And if your duvet shifts around inside, there are hidden openings that let you readjust the duvet without having to undo the whole cover.

The cover is not overpoweringly heavy at all but still has that soothing weight you appreciate at the end of the day. It's probably too warm for the summer, but for the remaining chilly nights of the year, it does the job well.

The pillow

I sleep on a memory foam pillow that's on the firmer side, so I can usually expect an adjustment period of at least one night whenever I try out new pillows. To my surprise and delight, I settled immediately into Casper's pillow.

pillows

My theory for this seamless transition is the pillow's two-layer construction, which strikes the balance between firmness and softness that most sleepers are looking for. The inner pillow provides a foundation of firm support, while the outer pillow is soft and fluffy.

The billionaire who founded NYC's biggest grocery chain after immigrating to America as an infant explains his support for Trump — and why he thinks the US should build a wall

John Catsimatidis

John Catsimatidis built a fortune operating a New York City-area grocery chain after his parents brought him to the United States from Greece as a baby. That hasn't stopped him from becoming an immigration hard-liner.

"I want immigration," Catsimatidis said in an interview with Bloomberg's Hailey Waller. "But let's take people who are going to help our country get better, versus people who want to hurt us. You can't solve the world's problems. We don't want the drug addicts, we don't want the people who are renting children to cross the border."

"Trump has stood up against the problem at the borders," Catsimatidis said. "Build a wall."

Catsimatidis, 70, entered the grocery business as a part-time cashier while attending New York University and purchased his first grocery store in 1969, according to Forbes. Catsimatidis' supermarket chain, Gristedes Foods, is the largest supermarket chain in New York City. He also owns an oil refinery and a radio station, according to Forbes. His net worth is $3.1 billion, Forbes estimates.

The comments were not Catsimatidis' first foray into politics. Once a Democrat, Catsimatidis ran for New York City mayor as a Republican in 2013, according to Bloomberg. Catsimatidis also said he's open to assisting Trump's 2020 campaign. "I'm here to help," he told Bloomberg.

Read more: The billionaire cofounder of Home Depot plans on donating up to 90% of his $5.9 billion fortune, and Trump's 2020 campaign will be one of the beneficiaries

Catsimatidis' comments echoed those made by President Trump on the campaign trail in 2015.

"When Mexico sends its people, they're not sending their best," Trump said, Business Insider previously reported. "They're sending people that have a lot of problems, and they're bringing those problems with us. They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people."

However, data shows that instances of violent crime actually decrease as immigration levels rise, Business Insider previously reported.

Catsimatidis' daughter Andrea has also been vocal about her support for the president. The self-described "billionaire heiress" faced criticism online after appearing on CNN in January to defend the government shutdown, she told New York Magazine's Olivia Nuzzi in July. Andrea has served as the chair of the Manhattan Republican Party since 2017.

Catsimatidis isn't the only billionaire to express support for the president in recent weeks. Home Depot cofounder Bernie Marcus told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that he planned to donate to the Trump's reelection campaign in July, sparking protests of the home improvement retailer. Equinox, SoulCycle, and Hudson Yards also faced backlash after a report that the chairman of their parent company, Stephen Ross, planned to hold a fundraiser for the campaign.

I made $106,421 on the side while working a demanding 9-to-5 job. Here are the 5 tricks that helped me the most.

  • Below, she shares the top tricks that helped her launch a highly successful business — without giving up watching her favorite TV shows.
  • One tip is the "Delete/Delegate/Do" strategy, which helps free up her time for the most crucial tasks at hand.
  • Visit Business Insider's homepage for more stories

The day I quit my job to go full-time in my own business, my manager wondered why I'd leave a great career and six-figure salary. What he didn't realize was that I'd already made $106,421 from my business before turning in my notice.

Making that money was life-changing, as it gave me the confidence to finally walk away from a steady paycheck and pursue my dream of being an entrepreneur.

Since then, I've helped thousands of people build their own online businesses before leaving their jobs. Here are my top five strategies for finding the time to grow your business on the side.

SEE ALSO: I retired at 37 as a self-made millionaire, and 3 years later I've learned a few big lessons about money and life

1. Delete, delegate, and do — strategically

One of my best tips for completing more of your to-do items? Have fewer on the list.

There's where the Delete/Delegate/Do exercise comes in. Write a list of all the activities you are currently spending time on and evaluate them in the following way:

If something doesn't have to be done, "delete" it and stop doing it. If it needs to be done but it doesn't need to be done by you, "delegate" it. What you're left with are the only tasks that you actually need to do — your "do" list. You'll probably be surprised at how small this list truly is.

For example, the first time I did this exercise, I realized that I spent a lot of time watching TV. I didn't expect to stop watching TV completely, but I figured I could cut down to only two or three shows. That alone freed up at least five hours each week.

Things that were important but that I didn't necessarily have to do, like setting up my website, I moved to the "Delegate" category.

If you're working a job while building your business on the side, the downside is that you don't have a lot of free time. The upside is that you have a bit more disposable income, which you can invest strategically in your business so that you can make the most of your limited time.

Read more: I've helped over a thousand men and women start their own online businesses. Here are 4 key differences between those who succeed and those who don't.

2. Leverage ‘gap time’

Early on, I realized that I was wasting a lot of time on "preparation." In other words, overthinking or hyping myself up before actually doing what I needed to do. For example, I once spent an hour preparing to record a video that only took 15 minutes to actually record!

That's when I started using "gap time" to force myself to be more efficient. This is time that you might normally expect to waste, like lunch time, your commute, or waiting at the doctor's office.

I started using that time to listen to courses, respond to client emails, follow up with prospective clients, write social media content, and engage online with potential clients.

The beauty of gap time is that because you only have a set amount of time, you are forced to take action and get what you need done within that time frame.

3. Go with your flow

A popular productivity tip is to wake up earlier in the day. After all, if it helps Fortune 500 CEOs get more done, shouldn't it work for you too?

Being a natural night owl though, I found that the earlier I woke up, the more tired I felt and the less I got done. So instead of trying to change my lifelong habits, I instead arranged my schedule to align with my natural energy flow.

Here's what that looked like:

On weekends, when my energy was high because I didn't have to go to work, I scheduled my mental heavy lifting. That meant generating content ideas, writing emails, and creating blog articles. Then, on weekdays after work, when my energy was low, I scheduled things that required less mental energy, like sharing the content I'd created during the weekend.

Read more: 6 confidence hacks that helped me go from earning $75,000 to $500,000 a year

4. Chunk your time

You know how you get in "the zone" after you've been working on something for a while? This is actually a psychological state where you're more focused and get things done faster.

However, it takes a while before you get into the zone. That's why you should "chunk" your time so that you can get more done by getting and staying in the zone.

For example, if you only have 30 minutes a day after work, that's a 30-minute "chunk" where you should be focused on just one activity; whether that's creating content, engaging with potential clients, or pitching potential partners.

There's another massive benefit to doing this. Before you even start working, you know exactly what to do because you know what that chunk of time has been set aside for. That way, no time is wasted wondering what you should be working on.

5. Organize your to-do list around your goals

This final tip is both a time-saving and a business-building tip: Every month, choose just one goal in your business, and make sure you only do things that move you towards achieving that goal.

For example, my first month's goal was to get my first paying client. Each to-do had to contribute to that goal. Otherwise, I didn't do it; it had to wait.

For my second month in business, my goal was to get my next two clients. Again, I didn't do anything that didn't help me meet that goal.

That's how I was able to create such focused momentum and growth in my business while working a demanding job. It wasn't that I had more time or had superhuman discipline. (Remember: I still set aside time to watch my top TV shows every week!)

It's not easy, but it's possible. The key is quality over quantity; using your limited time to work on fewer to-do items that made the biggest difference in growing your business.

How to clear the 'other' storage on your iPhone by deleting cache and system files that take up valuable space

storage full on iPhone

  • You can clear the "other" storage on your iPhone to free up space and make it run more efficiently.
  • The other storage category is mostly filled with cache and system files created by Safari, the Mail app, and iOS itself.
  • Here's how to clean up a significant portion of your other storage files on your iPhone.
  • Visit Business Insider's homepage for more stories.

If you have an older iPhone or a model without an enormous amount of storage, you might sometimes run low on space.

You probably already know some of the most common tricks for freeing space on your iPhone, such as deleting unwanted apps, music, and videos.

But there is a different category of storage on your phone that iOS refers to as "other."

If your other files are taking up a lot of space, you can reclaim some of that to make your iPhone run more smoothly, to install updates, or make better use of your iPhone's storage.

Check out the products mentioned in this article:

iPhone Xs (From $999.99 at Best Buy)

What other storage on an iPhone contains, and how to find it

To see how your iPhone's storage space is used, including the amount of space your other storage is taking up, do the following:

1. Start the Settings app.

2. Tap "General."

3. Tap "iPhone Storage."

storage 1

After a few moments, you'll see a graph at the top of the screen that illustrates how much room you have left on your phone.

The other storage category contains miscellaneous files that aren't included in the main categories (like photos and videos, apps, and email). Some of the most important other files include:

  • The Safari browser cache
  • Mail cache and mail attachments
  • Cache files associated with many apps
  • Cache and other system files generated by iOS

How to clear other storage files on your iPhone

The lowest hanging fruit in your other storage is usually Safari's browser cache. It's easy to clean and can grow to well over a gigabyte if you don't empty it occasionally.

To clear the cache, follow the steps in the "How to clear your iPhone's cache for Safari" section of our article, "How to clear the cache on your iPhone to free up storage space and help it run faster."

storage 2

Another place you can save a lot of space is by cleaning up your email. If you tend to save a lot of email, that can take up a significant amount of your other storage. To do that, you should delete email messages with large attachments.

The Mail app also has its own cache, which tends to get large with time. There's no easy way to clear that cache, but if you remove and re-add your email accounts, it will flush the mail cache in the process.

For a reminder about how to set up email accounts, see our article "How to add any email account to your iPhone."

If you record a lot of voice memos, you might find they are consuming a lot of your available space. To delete them, start the Voice Memos app and swipe any unwanted memos to the left and tap "Delete."

storage 3

Finally, you can reclaim other storage space by deleting apps you no longer use, since that will clear any cache the apps were using at the same time.

For more advice on how to get back space on your iPhone, read our article "How to free up space on an iPhone that's running out of storage."

Use an app to clear your other storage

Since the other storage category is such a catch-all and includes files created by the Settings app and operating system which you have no way to remove, another alternative is to use a third-party utility app designed to reclaim storage space.

For example, iPhone Cleaner (which contains both an iPhone app and desktop program for Mac or Windows) is an app which can help remove these sorts of hidden files.

The best Chase credit cards you can sign up for in 2019

the best chase cards

  • Chase is a big player in the credit card rewards and benefits space. Regardless of which card you choose, you'll gain access to plenty of perks and benefits. We break down which card is best for different people's needs.
  • The Chase Sapphire Reserve is the best Chase card you can have with its generous sign-up bonus, travel rewards, and points system. But it has a $450 annual fee — if you want to pay less out of pocket, the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card is also a great choice.

Credit card points and frequent flyer miles can be incredibly useful, no matter what kinds of rewards you earn or what you eventually choose to do with them. While there are a few different types of credit card rewards, you benefit regardless of which kind your card earns by collecting a rebate on your everyday spending — as long as you practice financial discipline and pay off your statement in full each month.

Aside from rewards, a lot of credit cards come with perks, benefits, and complimentary services that can be extraordinarily useful and valuable. Think airport lounge access, roadside assistance, free primary rental car insurance, purchase protections, and more.

Why you should consider a Chase card

Over the past few years, Chase has become a powerhouse in the credit card rewards and benefits space, growing its Ultimate Rewards program with the lucrative Chase Sapphire Preferred Card, and then launching the premium Sapphire Reserve in 2016 with a massive introductory sign-up bonus of 100,000 Ultimate Rewards points.

While that bonus has since dropped, the card remains a powerhouse of value, and the Ultimate Rewards program is fiercely competitive, with a ton of different ways to redeem points and a number of different cards available with varied benefits

If you're looking for a new Chase card to boost your stores of Ultimate Rewards points, or you're interested in getting access to new benefits or perks, it might be worth opening a new Chase card — just make sure that you know how opening a new card for the sign-up bonus or benefits can affect your credit.

Take a look below at our choices of the best available Chase cards, including our overall winner, the Chase Sapphire Reserve.

Keep in mind that, unless it's otherwise noted in the card description, we're focusing on benefits, perks, and rewards that make these cards great options, not things like interest rates and late fees, which can far outweigh the value of any rewards.

When you're working to earn credit-card rewards, it's important to practice financial discipline, like paying your balances off in full each month, making payments on time, and not spending more than you can afford to pay back — or spending more than you would otherwise. Basically, with a few rare exceptions, you should treat your credit card like a debit card.

Here are our top picks for the best Chase cards in 2019:

The best Chase card overall

Why you'll love it: The Chase Sapphire Reserve makes it easy to earn rewards for travel and more with a great sign-up bonus and a lucrative points-earning scheme.

Sign-up bonus: 50,000 points (after spending $4,000 in the first three months)

Not only is the Sapphire Reserve our favorite Chase card — but it's also our pick for the best rewards credit card overall.

Earning 3 Ultimate Rewards points per dollar spent on dining and any travel, and 1 point per dollar on everything else, the Sapphire Reserve earns points quickly through your everyday spending, and it comes with a slew of perks.

Points are worth 1.5¢ each toward travel booked through Chase, but can also be transferred to a number of frequent flyer and hotel loyalty programs — typically, this gets you the most value for your points. Benefits include access to airport lounges through the Priority Pass network, trip delay coverage, purchase protection, a Global Entry or TSA PreCheck credit, and car rental primary coverage.

However, while the airport lounge access can be great, most Priority Pass lounges are in international terminals, which isn't helpful when you're flying domestically.

The annual fee is a hefty $450, but that's offset by a $300 travel credit each year, good for things like taxis, subway fare, parking, tolls, and flights.

There aren't many downsides to this card— besides the upfront annual fee. Chase has invested heavily in making the Ultimate Rewards program competitive. Booking flights by transferring points to frequent flyer partners is generally more lucrative — that's usually how people use points to fly in first and business class — but it can be complicated because you have to decipher award charts, find availability, and work around complicated airline rules.

However, because the Sapphire Reserve allows you to get 1.5¢ for each point, if you use them to book travel through Chase's online or phone travel agent, there's a simpler and still-valuable option.

Pros: Solid sign-up bonus, easy to earn points, points work with frequent flyer and hotel loyalty programs, good airport benefits

Cons: High annual fee, Priority Pass lounges are typically in international terminals

The best Chase card with a lower annual fee

Why you'll love it:Chase Sapphire Preferred has a lower annual fee than the Sapphire Reserve and it's easy to rack up points.

Sign-up bonus: 60,000 points (after spending $4,000 in the first three months)

The Reserve's older sibling, the Sapphire Preferred offers a number of similar features, and an even higher sign-up bonus, for a lower annual fee. The card earns 2x Ultimate Rewards points instead of the Reserve's 3x points on dining and travel, and 1x points on everything else.

Points are worth a lower 1.25¢ on travel booked through Chase, but can still be transferred to frequent flyer and hotel loyalty programs. There's no annual travel credit, but there's still car rental primary coverage, as well as slightly less-generous trip delay coverage and purchase protection. The annual fee is a more manageable $95.

While the Sapphire Preferred was the all-around best card for a long time, the Sapphire Reserve has made it a harder choice. While the Preferred earns fewer points on bonus spending categories than the Reserve, and the value of the points on travel booked through Chase is less.

The no-hassle travel credit on the Sapphire Reserve makes the annual fee on that card effectively $150 (accounting for the $300 you get back through the credit), so — depending on your spending habits — it can be worth paying more up front for the Sapphire Reserve.

Pros: Good sign-up bonus, transferable points, travel perks, lower annual fee than the Sapphire Reserve card (and it's waived the first year)

Cons: Lower point value when purchasing travel through Chase, no annual travel credit, earns points more slowly than the Sapphire Reserve

Click here to learn more about the Chase Sapphire Preferred from our partner The Points Guy.

The best Chase card for everyday spending

Why you'll love it:Chase Freedom Unlimited helps you earn points for normal purchases and get cash back with no annual fee.

Sign-up bonus: Double rewards for your first year: 3% cash back (or 3 points per dollar spent) for your first year with the card on up to $20,000 of spend

If you already have the Sapphire Reserve or the Preferred and are saving your points for something, the Freedom Unlimited can give your balance a nice boost. While Chase markets the card as "cash back," it actually earns Ultimate Rewards points that you can redeem for cash (1 point = 1¢).

If you have a premium card like the Sapphire Reserve, you can pool your points from the two cards. The Freedom Unlimited earns 1.5 points per dollar spent, so paired with a Sapphire Reserve, it's a great card to use for purchases that aren't made on travel expenses or dining.

The card used to offer a 15,000-point (or $150) sign-up bonus, but recently replaced that with something new. Now, for your first year, you'll earn 3% back (3x points) on up to $20,000 of spend.

Best of all, the card has no annual fee and often has 0% APR for the first 15 months on purchases and balance transfers. After that, there's a 17.24%–25.99% variable APR. If you have a major purchase ahead of you, that introductory offer can be useful.

The Chase Freedom Unlimited is a fantastic all-around card. However, to get the most value when it's time to spend your points, you need the Sapphire Reserve or Preferred card, too, so you can pool your points. Otherwise, points are only worth 1¢ each no matter how you use them and they can't be transferred to airline or hotel partners.

Pros: Decent sign-up bonus, earn points on regular purchases, no annual fee, 0% APR for first 15 months (and a 17.24%–25.99% variable APR after that)

Cons: One point only equals one cent for cash back; to get a better value you'll need to pair it with a premium Sapphire card

The best Chase card for small businesses, freelancers, and side-gigs

Why you'll love it: The Chase Ink Business Preferred helps small business owners rack up points quickly, and combine them with points earned on their personal cards.

Sign-up bonus: 80,000 points (after spending $5,000 in the first three months)

The Ink Preferred is an excellent rewards credit card — the bad news is that it's only available for small business owners. The good news is that a lot of things you might not expect actually count as small businesses, including freelancing, side gigs, and even selling things on eBay.

The card, which has a $95 annual fee, earns 3 points per dollar on the first $150,000 you spend each cardmember year in a few categories, including travel, shipping, internet/cable/phone, and advertising on social media sites or with search engines, such as Google Ads. Purchases after you reach $150,000, or in any other category, earn 1 point per dollar. Unless you operate a small business that's on the larger side, chances are you won't hit that cap.

Like with the Sapphire Preferred, you'll get a 25% bonus when using points earned with the Ink Preferred to book travel directly with Chase. Of course, if you pool them on your Sapphire Reserve card, that bonus will be 50% instead.

The card comes with a handful of other perks, many of which overlap with the Sapphire Preferred and Reserve, such as trip cancellation/interruption insurance, primary car rental loss/damage coverage, and various purchase protections. It also comes with cell phone insurance when you use the card to pay your phone bill, offering up to $600 for each covered claim.

Pros: Useful bonus categories, cell phone insurance, ability to transfer points

Cons: Caps on bonus earning which larger small businesses may reach quickly

Click here to learn more about the Ink Business Preferred from our partner The Points Guy

The best Chase card for bonuses

Why you'll love it: The Chase Freedom offers 5% cash back or 5x points on up to $1,500 of spending in a different spending category each quarter, helping you boost your point stash.

Sign-up bonus: $150 bonus (15,000 points) after you spend $500 on purchases in the first three months

Just like the Freedom Unlimited, the regular Chase Freedom card is marketed as cash back, but actually earns Ultimate Rewards points that you can exchange for cash (1 point = 1¢). You can combine them with Ultimate Rewards earned from a different card, which gives you the option to get a bonus when redeeming them for travel or transfer them to travel partners.

The regular Freedom's key feature is that it earns 1% cash back (or 1 point per dollar spent) across the board, except for a rotating quarterly bonus category that earns 5% (or 5x points). In the past, the quarterly category has included things like Amazon, pharmacies, Lyft, restaurants, "entertainment" like movie theaters and concert tickets, and purchases made through Apple or Android Pay. This quarter, the categories are gas stations and select streaming services

Otherwise, the Freedom is pretty similar to the Freedom Unlimited. It doesn't have an annual fee, and there's an introductory 0% APR for the first 15 months on purchases and balance transfers (with a 16.74%–25.49% variable APR).

Pros: Decent sign-up bonus, for a no-annual-fee card, great earning rate on quarterly bonus categories, 0% APR for first 15 months (and a 16.74%–25.49% variable APR after that)

Cons: One point only equals one cent for cash back, to get a better value you'll need to pair it with a Sapphire card
